The download is slow, stops, or the file won’t open

Updated

The course files are large (the whole course is about 3.5 GB), so downloads can take a while, especially on a slow or shared connection. If a download is very slow, stops, or the file says it’s damaged, try these one at a time:

  1. Download one file at a time, and pause other downloads, streaming and video calls on the same connection.
  2. Get a stronger connection. Move closer to your Wi-Fi router, or plug your computer in with a cable. Avoid mobile data for the full course.
  3. Restart your router: switch it off for 30 seconds, then on again.
  4. Try another web browser, or try at a quieter time of day, such as early morning or late at night.
  5. Download the file again. A “damaged”, “corrupt” or “empty archive” message almost always means the download didn’t finish.

Also check there’s enough free space on your computer or phone. If your browser warns that the connection isn’t private or safe, check that your computer’s date and time are correct, then try again.
